Luang Phor Derm is one of the greatest guru monks in Thailand. HE was born in B.E. 2403 ( C.E. 1860 ) in Nakhon Sawan Province. Luang Phor Derm got ordained at the age of 20 ( B.E. 2423 ) at Wat Khao Kaew, Nakhon Sawan Province. After Luang Phor Derm ordained, he went to stay at Wat Nong Pho to study Buddha’s teaching. Luang Phor Derm began to studied dharma, meditation and Pali language from Luang Ta Chom who was abbot of Wat Nong Pho. He also learned from many great monk like Ajarn Phan , Luang Phor Mee of Wat Ban Bon ,  Luang Pu Thet of Wat Sarthalay, Luang Phor Ngen of Wat Phra Pranglueng, Luang Phor Khaonor in Nakhon Sawan Province and Luang Phor Kham of Wat Khao Keaw. Luang Phor Derm deceased in B.E. 2949 ( C.E. 1951 ) at the age of 92.

Through his 71 years of monkhood , he had help to build over 30 temples in Nakhon Sawan Province and nearby provinces such as Phichit, Pitsanulok and Chainat.

Luang Phor Derm was well known to have kept many elephants. Luang Phor Derm loved all of his elephants and have a special power ( Yana ) to detect elephant's mind and to communicate with them.  

Luang Phor Derm was a well known monk and was often invited by other temples for ordain ceremony. When he getting older , he would travel from Wat Nong Pho to the temple on his elephants. When he reached his destination , he would let the elephants freely and fed itself in the nearby area. When the ceremony going to end , the elephants will come back itself and Kneeled down in front of the temple waiting to pick up Luang Phor Derm back to Wat Nong Pho. 

Luang Phor Derm also very concerned about the water in the temple's pond which to him was the main blood vessel for all the monks in the temple. When the pond was shallow in the dry season, Luang Phor Derm would meditate and beg for rain.
